Express Member Track Rules
This page last updated 05/15/08.
ARKANSAS SHADOWS RACEPARK
Steward: This is a "Volunteer Steward" racetrack. Stewards will vary, but the entry email will remain the same. Send snail mail entries to Marta Towne-Jones, PO Box 457, Green Forest, AR 72638
E-mail: arshadowsracepark@yahoo.com
Fees: Entry is free for e-mail entries. Snail mail entries are $.05 per horse or $.39 stamp per stable.
Rules:
1. ASR is a JUMBLES MEET TRACK. All horses MUST have an indication of the distance you prefer your horse to run. Since in a Jumbles meet there are times when your horse's preferred distance is not available, please note the distances that your horse can be run at, or if you prefer your horse to be scratched if there is not a suitable distance. You can list the alternative distances as ranges (i.e. 300-400y) or specific distances (Prefer 300 yard, 330 yard ok,). Stewards will do their best to make sure that all horses are placed in races at the distance they prefer, but that is not always possible. If you do not list the preferred or alternative distances, the Stewards will assign the horses to any race that is open with in the noted range.
2. If more than 12 horses are entered at the same preferred distance, Splits will be made. Any splits will be done at the stewards discretion and may be split by breed, age, gender or accomplishment.
3. GUEST STEWARDS: If you are hesitant about volunteering to run a Jumbles meet, I will be happy to help you.
4. You must be an Express member to race at Arkansas Shadows Racepark.
5. Horses in their first year of racing may race with registrations pending, after the first year, horses must have registrations numbers.
6. Entries are due by 10pm CST the day of the meet.
7. Email entries are free, and strongly encouraged. I can accept .rtf, .txt, .doc attachments as well as entries in the body of an email. Snail mail entries are $.05 per horse or $.39 stamp per stable. If sending via snail mail, you must include SASE with enough postage to have your cards and a copy of results returned to you.
8. Please limit your entries to 20 horses for the meet. There is no PER RACE limit, just limit of 20 horses per meet per owner. When there is a CALL FOR ADDITIONAL ENTRIES, the entry limit will be WAIVED, so you may send as many horses as will fit in the open races.
9. Since ASR is a Jumble track, races are decided in a realistic fashion, depending on what distances the horses in residence want. Stakes will be split by breed first, then gender if entries so warrant.
10. No races will be run with less than 4 entries, if less than 4 horses request a certain distance, they will be entered in races at their alternative distance, or scratched if their owner has indicated that option.
11. Race cards must include the following: Name, Age, Color and/or Pattern, Sire (s x d), Dam (s x d), breeder, trainer, jockey (if applicable), summary race card for the last 12 months. Please put race number and title of race entered with EACH horse. Cards which do not do that may be refused and returned to owner to be reformatted.
12. If you use cliff notes, PLEASE make sure those are in the Entry list at the top of the email and NOT with each horse's card.
13. Please be sure to include family and pedigree notes. Trainer's notes are strongly encouraged and recommended.
14. No first time starters over the age of 5. Horses who are over the age of 12 and have not won an allowance or placed in a Stakes in the last 12 months may not race.
15. Shadow Ridge-bred horses are welcome to race at Arkansas Shadows Racepark, but please try to find a suitable race elsewhere first. Horses belonging to a Guest Steward will NOT be allowed to race at a meet the Guest Steward is holding.
16. Two year old horses will NOT race longer than 400 yards until after September due to Express rules.
17. Only APPALOOSA's and TBs will be allowed to race in FURLONG races.
18. In open year races, two year olds will NOT race against older horses.
COMMUNITY DOWNS
Steward: This is a "Volunteer Steward" racetrack. Stewards will vary. The track is coordinated by Heather White, 5129 National Pike, Markleysburg, PA 15459 (I will scan and email them)
E-Mail: CommunityDowns@yahoo.com
Rules:
1) Entry fee is FREE. Entry limit is 3 horses per race.
2) Email entries MUST HAVE CLIFF NOTES, Either in "Race entry summary" or just above the Horse’s Card.
Cliff note "example" yours may vary: Horse name (XXX) 02Qf/wnr (Sire x Dam, BMS)
3) Please send all your entries in ONE email/attachment -- at most, two.
4) Thoroughbreds may enter any race that is 660 yards or longer.
All meets are for all the stock breeds this year, so be sure your horses' breeds are clearly listed. It is preferred, but NOT mandatory, that you try to send a mix of breeds to the races, so we can try to make splits between QH/TB fields and Paint/App ones. However, we know that not everyone runs all the stock breeds, so again, we do not require this! It's just an "if you can" deal.
EMERALD CITY RACEWAY
Steward: Shanon Range, 16212 S Menlo Ave, Gardena, CA 90247
E-Mail: Chester730@yahoo.com
1. You must be an Express member to race.
2. All horses must be registered with their appropriate registries. Horses in their first season of racing may race with registration numbers pending for six months. Candi is very good about getting numbers back in a day or two if you only have a few you need registered in order for them to race asap. This will be strictly enforced this year - horses who have been racing more than six months that still state "RR# pending" will NOT be allowed to race.
3. Entries are due by 10pm Sunday night, the weekend of the meet. Entries must be *in* my hands. I will not be responsible for lost or late entries, either by the USPS or email servers. (If you don't receive a "got 'em" message from me within 8 hours of sending, I would suggest sending again).
4. Email entries are free, and strongly encouraged. I can accept .rtf, .txt, .doc attachments as well as entries in the body of an email. Snail mail entries are $.05 per horse or $.41 stamp per stable. If sending via snail mail, you must include SASE with enough postage to have your cards and a copy of results returned to you.
5. Please limit your entries to three horses per owner per undercard, two horses total per Stakes.
6. Races may be split by breed, gender, ability, pre race points or however the steward deems fit if there are a sufficient number of horses entered. Stakes will be split by breed first, then gender if entries so warrant. Should a Stakes have more than 12, but not enough to split by the above mentioned conditions, a 12 sided die will be rolled. Horses with the 12 highest rolls will run in the Stakes. Any remaining horses will be placed into a consolation allowance race with a higher than normal purse.
7. Regarding purses: The first amount listed is for P/A only races, second amount listed is for QH only races. If the race is run as an all breed race, the highest purse amount will be used. In the event an all-breed carded stakes is split by breed, the QH only race will be the purse listed, the P/A split will be $10,000 lower.
8. No races will be run with less than 4 entries. If a race has fewer than 4 entries, it will be combined with the next suitable allowance race, or be cancelled outright.
9. Race cards must include the following: Name, Age, Color and/or Pattern, Sire (s x d), Dam (s x d), breeder, trainer, jockey (if applicable), summary race card for the last 12 months. Please put race number and title of race entered with EACH horse. Cards which do not do that will be refused and returned to owner to be reformatted. Also, please list cumulative race record with highest accomplishment (i.e. MSW) and highest SI - this makes it easier for me to award SI points. If you do not put highest SI earned with a cumulative race record, I will award SI points based on most recent SI. A cliff notes line is greatly appreciated and should look similar to this: Pretty Willie (SRA) 99Ag/MSW (I Love Willie-r x Prettynuff Plaudit, Prince Plaudit-r) North By Northwest Farms, Wa.
10. Please be sure to include family and pedigree notes. Trainer's notes are strongly encouraged and recommended.
11. No first time starters over the age of 5. Horses who are over the age of 12 and have not won an allowance or placed in a Stakes in the last 12 months may not race.
12. Emerald Acres-bred horses are welcome to race at Emerald City Race Park, but please try to find a suitable race elsewhere first.

NEIGHBORHOOD RACE PARK
Steward: This is a "Volunteer Steward" racetrack. Stewards will vary. The track is coordinated by Veronica Grainger. Please e-mail her for entry snail mail addy if necessary.
E-mail: runaway-uma@bresnan.net
Neighborhood Race Park is a Realistic-Race track for the Express Racing Group. Neighborhood Race Park hosts races for Arabians and Standardbreds. This unique track is organized by Jenny Purcell, but the actual meets are hosted by Volunteers. Should no volunteer take the meet, it will be run by Dana Smith. Neighborhood Race Park is also unique because in an effort to keep race numbers down, as many hosts are first timers, and to fill the need for races, NRP will only offer Undercard Races. (no stakes)
Neighborhood Race Park is a 1 mile track, consisting of mostly sand, making it easy to maintain, even within the unpredictable Texas weather. Because of our sandy surface, our track is almost always Fast. Only when racing in or just after a downpour will you see a sloppy track, or a move off the Turf. (When the track is sloppy, it is actually soupy sand, and the footing is still good, unlike the more Dirt type tracks, which tend to get slippery.)
Neighborhood Race Park is located to the north of Houston, in Huntsville, Texas. The Grandstand is reminiscent of rambling Texas ranch houses made with Austin stone. The entire Grandstand and Ground Level Viewing Area is set at a 30 degree angle to the Stretch, giving everyone an unobscured view of the stretch drive.
The backside is fresh & newly painted. There are 20 barns with 60 stalls, 2 tack rooms, 2 feed/hay storage areas, 4 wash racks and 6 two bedroom apartments in each barn. The backside Kitchen offers Breakfast and Lunch Buffets, along with many reasonably priced Menu Items. Security is heavy, but appreciated.
Neighborhood Race Park offers many quality races with good purses. The track is open year round as a training facility when not holding a meet. The Houston Area has a great climate for Winter racing.
Neighborhood Race Park would like to invite all Trainers and Owners to come out and enjoy our Southern Hospitality!
Fees: Entry is Free.
Rules:
1)You must be an Express member to enter.
2) All horses must be registered with the appropriate Express registry.
3) Limits: 2 horses per race per owner.

5) Entries must arrive by 11pm eastern time the day before the meet is scheduled.
6) If sending snail mail entries, please include a sase with enough postage for return of race cards and results.
7) Be sure to put breed and date of race meet in subject of email.

SAGUARO PARK
Steward: Carla Potter, 1216 E Bethany Home Rd, #218, Phoenix, AZ 85014
E-mail: cheddar29@cox.net
The legendary "Old" Saguaro Park, which was operating in the early 1990's, was a 5/8ths mile track.
The current incarnation of Saguaro Park is located on the same land but has been remodeled to be a full 1 mile oval.
The dirt track is ready to go now for matinee racing, perfect for the late Fall/ Winter/ early Spring months.
A full state-of-the-art night time lighting system is in the works to run Standardbreds at night as the weather warms up, although the months of July and August are probably out of the question here in the Sonoran Desert!
An inner turf course is in the works for Saguaro Park for a possible (no promises yet) expansion into Arabian racing!
RULES:
Entries are limited to 2 horses per owner, per race.
I reserve the right to split fields according to conditions, sex, by owner, or as I see fit.
Walkovers will run as official timed trials.
Snail mail entries are free but require a SASE with enough postage for results and return of cards.
Entries are welcomed in the body of an email or as an attachment.
For all email entries, *Cliff Notes* are REQUIRED!
I really, really, really would appreciate Cliff Notes in the following format so I can simply copy and paste into the results.
Examples:
Kundalini Express (CPO) '80Th/ MSW (Florida Pro-r x Romola Adios-r, Adios)
Hot Coffee (CPO) '03Pm/ Mw (Lestat Cafe x Desert Heat, Nihilator-r)
Aftermath (CPO) '05Tf/ plcd (Blackmail x Epilogue, Final Score-r)
|
The "P" or "T" after the year of birth indicates a pacer or trotter.
An -r , -R , (r), or (R) can be used in lieu of if you can't get that character on your keyboard.
I DON'T need breeder names, lifemarks, color, capitolized SW names, or anything else for the Cliff Notes portion of your entries.
Save all that other stuff for your actual racecards. The Cliff Notes are not at all used for handicapping, just for results!
I prefer these notes at the top of your email or attachment.
***Don't worry, I won't refuse your entries if it's not exact. I'll change them as needed. I'm just trying to speed up the process of getting results out!
