"Cliff's Notes"Guidelines

A "Cliff's Notes" summary of your race entries is only used if you are entering a meet via e-mail. Snail mail entrants do not need to do this. Please make sure you check the rules for the track you are sending your horses to. Some stewards consider such a summary optional, but others are requiring them.

For each horse you are entering you list the name, year of birth, breed (only if a stock horse or a Thoroughbred), sire x dam, and the highest placing achieved.

Probably the best place to put this summary is at the TOP of your e-mail message rather than in the body of the horse's racecard.

Example:

Race 1 -
Mighty Fast - 01Qc (sire's name x dam's name) - alw wnr
Tempus Fueget - 00Pg (sire's name x dam's name) - mdn wnr
Race 3 -
Pretty Filly - 02Af (sire's name x dam's name) - SW

The above examples are stock horses. "Q" stands for Quarter Horse, "A" stands for Appaloosa, and "P" stands for Paint. The "c" stands for colt, "f" for filly, and "g" for gelding.

Now if you are entering an Arabian or a Standardbred, you don't need to include anything for the breed because they don't compete against other breeds.
